Meet our students - Cancer Biology
Dean's prize winner
What did you most enjoy about your course?
I personally haven't had any experience in programming or bioinformatics before, which makes joining this course a huge challenge for me. However, this is also what appealed to me at the very first place, as I can have a taste of conducting research with a completely different type of tools. Furthermore, learning how to employ bioinformatics into scientific studies provides a really good training in logistic thinking and builds up my confidence in manipulating a large amount of data.
What did you most appreciate about the Faculty/College?
This course provides a wide range of projects we can choose from, and we were given quite clear guidelines throughout the program. Everyone in the lab groups is very friendly and well-connected, which builds up a perfect environment for doing research.
How did it feel to receive the Dean's Prize?
To be honest, I am very surprised and excited to know that I have been awarded the Dean's Prize. I would love to keep on radiating my passionate enthusiasm and pursue scientific research in the future.
What are you doing now/What do you plan on doing after graduation?
I will be starting my PhD studies on the role of long non-coding RNAs and the epigenome of vascular and lymphatic endothelium in human colorectal cancer at the ETH Zurich next year.
