Cell \ Tissue culture

central facilities for both primary and established cell cultures in South Kensington and White city

Genomics and Proteomics

For Genotyping, DNA and RNA extractions, mRNA analysis and including the Zeiss PALM microdissection

Sectioning and staining - Microtome, cryostats, Vibratomes, light microscopy and the Tissuecyte (a Two photon whole tissue imaging system)

Molecular Bioengineering Teaching Laboratory

Based in South Kensington, the home of the Bioengineering undergraduate teaching laboratory, student project areas and may be open for use outside of timetabled classes on request.

Designed for use of state of the art microfabrication equipment and technology in a safe controlled environment, including ALD, ICP Deposition and ICP etching Plasma cluster

Bionano-Characterisation

Dedicated to the identification and characterisation of molecules, compounds and larger objects. Including high specification HPLCs, a mass spectrometer and a microCT scanner.

Injury and Reconstruction Biomechanics Test Suite

Mechanical testing, imaging & analysis equipment for the transformational research in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and injury biomechanics. Ability to test spinal implants to ASTM standards or using bespoke protocols
