Norha Vera San Juan is the Co-lead of the RSS Qualitative team. She is a senior Research Fellow at King's College London and University College London, specialising in applied qualitative research in emergencies and humanitarian aid contexts. Her work informs global health service and policy development in complex contexts, with a focus on mental health, living conditions, and community engagement. 

She has a strong track record securing national and international funding to conduct a range of research including innovations using AI for big qualitative data analysis (e.g. LISTEN project) and health needs assessments in complex contexts (e.g. Life on the Edge). 

Norha is a member of the Lancet Commission on Ending Stigma and Discrimination in Mental Health and the Lancet Commission on Psychosis. She co-founded the Social Research Platform on Mental Health in Latin America (PLASMA), leads the Recovery Chapter of the Latin American Consortium for Early Psychosis Research (ANDES), and founded and directs the Open Mind Network for mental health recovery in Spanish-Speaking countries.
