CEP’s research directly shapes environmental policy and practice at local, national, and global levels. Through major co-hosted programmes, including Climate Compatible Growth, the Integrated Assessment Unit, World Weather Attribution, and the UK Energy Research Centre, we collaborate with governments, government departments, UN organisations, Regional Development Banks, industry, and communities to support evidence-based decision-making on climate finance, clean and just energy transitions, healthy and biodiverse environments, mitigation, and adaptation. Our work informs UK and international policy and practice, helping to translate complex interdisciplinary research into practical solutions for a more sustainable future. We also engage extensively across the Global South, including through capacity-building initiatives that empower local academics and policymakers to develop locally grounded solutions and strengthen the science–policy interface.
