We know that understanding the technical challenges and providing solutions is not sufficient to deliver sustainable change. For this we work directly with government departments to understand knowledge and translation gaps and to provide evidence that underpins arguments for sustainable policies.
Our industrial partnerships are equally critical to delivering technical transitions commercially and at scale, with our researchers providing evaluations to identify the most promising pathways. An important complement to both government and industry engagements is our work on communicating transitions in ways that improve their social acceptability. Our growing library of systematic technical reviews intersects with the work of our social scientists so that we are not only able to outline what a sustainable future looks like but also how best to make it happen.
