‘Unity and connectedness’ is one of Friedrich Froebel’s principles which reflect not only our cultural celebrations but, in our ethos, and values.
Through the diversity of our families and team, children are presented with many cultural festivals and celebrations of the world, providing them with an ‘Understanding of the World’ as well as ‘respect and appreciation for the cultures of the world’. This ‘Cultural Capital’, a melting pot filled with cultural diversity, opens opportunities for Respect, Values, Awareness and Celebration.
Included in our curriculum, children have opportunities to learn about Lunar New Year, Easter, Eid, Diwali, Hanukkah, Carnival, Black History Month, Christmas, Harvest to name but a few through music, dance, food, language, storytelling, clothing, interest tables and photos.
