Functional graphene-based composites

Suelen Barg is using the amphiphilic properties of graphene oxide to generate ceramic and polymer containing materials with a wide range of structures from foams to beads or layered materials.
Different treatments are used to manipulate the surface properties of graphene and their effect on the behaviour of graphene suspensions is systematically assessed. For example, graphene segretation to liquid/liquid interfaces or z-potential can be easily manipulated. These properties are adjusted to fabricate the materials using wet processing techniques.
