Background for project
This project develops and deploys Libster, a student‑controlled digital platform that allows Imperial students to securely access and visualise their own library entry and exit data. Building on an existing student‑created prototype, the project addresses the current lack of accessible, meaningful ways for students to understand their study patterns, which are otherwise locked behind slow and opaque data request processes. Through a privacy‑first, opt‑in design and integration with Imperial’s existing library and authentication systems, Libster will provide interactive dashboards showing time spent studying, usage trends, and recap summaries to support evidence‑informed reflection on learning habits. Delivered through an authentic student‑staff partnership, the project advances student agency, ethical learning analytics, and innovation in digital education while creating sustainable infrastructure with potential institution‑wide impact.
This project is due to run Summer 2026 – watch this space for outputs and outcomes!
