White City is the nearest major business centre to Heathrow Airport, just 13 minutes from the West End, and 22 minutes from the City of London.

By public transport

Our nearest London Underground stations are:

• White City station: 3 minute walk (Central line)
• Wood Lane station: 6 minute walk (Circle line, Hammersmith and City line)
• Shepherd’s Bush station: under 20 minute walk (National Rail connections)

Bus routes connect White City with Clapham Junction, Hounslow and Golders Green.

The planned HS2 ‘super-hub’ at Old Oak Common is due to be the largest new railway station ever built in the UK. It will provide quick access from White City to Heathrow Airport, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.

By bicycle

There are secure bike parking areas at the south side of I-HUB and in front of the Wood Lane studios by the car park. You can order free cycling maps of White City here. By road

Imperial’s White City Campus is next to the Westway (A40), a key route into the heart of London. It also takes you outwards to the North Circular ring road (A406) surrounding central London, and beyond to the M25 encircling Greater London.

There is parking for registered visitors and maintenance contractors who need to access the site. There are also permanent parking spaces for staff and students based at the White City Campus who are registered disabled.

From overseas

The closest airport is Heathrow. From there, a taxi takes about 35 minutes to reach the campus. By public transport, you can use the Heathrow Express and the tube to get to Wood Lane station in about 45 minutes.

Shuttle bus to South Kensington Campus

A free 35-seat shuttle bus runs hourly Monday–Friday from the South Kensington Campus (picking up outside the Central Library on Imperial College Road) from 8.10 to 17.10. The route also loops to the Hammersmith Campus. Find our timetable and pick-up locations here.
