Information for Staff
- Staff Additional Equipment Request
- Staff Additional Software Requests
- Microsoft Teams Telephony Solution
With the implementation of hybrid working we have streamlined the additional equipment request process which is now accessible through the link. Staff should complete this form in order for the Office Management team to be able to process and order any equipment requests.
All staff are provided access to a standard package of software, however, occasionally staff require additional software to complete their job. This form is design to capture any additional software requests.
Software and software licences are issued to College staff by the ICT Department's Tech Store. Before the Tech Store can issue the software you want and process the necessary licences for it, you must get approval via the Office Management Team.
Please check the ICT complete A – Z index of discounted and free software currently available to staff at Imperial College London, in order to check whether their is a licence agreement already in place. If you click on the appropriate letter to get details of the software you require and information about how to order it: ICT Software Infomation
If there is nothing currently in place please complete the software request form by clicking on this link: Additional Software Request
On the recommendation of the ICT Telecoms Team, all Registry extensions migrated to Microsoft Teams, replacing the use of the CISCO Jabber software.
In the last 18 months the traditional “handset on desk” telephone service has not been flexible enough to meet the changing requirements of the workplace, especially since so many areas are looking at adopting smart-working models.
With Teams telephony there are no more handsets, users can make and receive phone calls in their Teams client whether they are logged in on a PC/laptop, a tablet or a mobile phone wherever they are and there is no need to be connected to the College VPN service.
There is a simple interface for forwarding incoming calls to a mobile and users can create their own “call groups” of colleagues who can take calls on their behalf.
