Staff student committee

The Department of Bioengineering has two teams of student representatives who look at both academic and wellbeing issues. For UG programmes, we have academic and wellbeing departmental representatives and then, in addition, academic and wellbeing representatives for each year of study. For PG programmes, we have one representative per programme.

Along with key staff members highlighted below, these students form the Staff Student Committee -- our platform for students to exchange thoughts on their programmes, highlight any complaints and provide suggestions for improvements. Information is collected by the Student Union in order to present a global view of the College and all raised issues are discussed at the Departmental Teaching Committee meeting. The Departmental Student Representatives are also present at Teaching Committee meetings.

Staff Student Committee meetings are an excellent platform for discussing long term, structural aspects of the course, but not ideal for handling day-to-day matters. Instead, the Department has a dedicated Academic Student Liaison Officer who is in direct contact with the student representatives to handle problems as they arise.
