IDLES commenced in November 2018 and is being funded by the EPSRC (£7 million), in conjunction with industrial support. Generating outputs of relevance to stakeholders across the energy sector, IDLES is supported by a consortium of external partners.

The consortium includes our lead industrial partners ABB, EDF and National Grid, other large industry representation, SMEs and public sector parties.

These connections will ensure that industrial and policy needs are embedded in the research programme and that rapid translation of the results into a real environment is facilitated.
