Industry Advisory Board

The Dyson School of Design Engineering (DSDE) maintains an Industry Advisory Board (IAB) to utilise their perspective and experience to enhance the School’s position as a centre of excellence for teaching, learning and research with a view to maximise employability, opportunities for graduates, and to promote design engineering activities and the ethos of the School.

Meetings

  • The IAB will meet once a year, normally on a day when there is a large-scale exhibition of the School’s design work. This exhibition will be followed by a meeting with the staff and student representatives to reflect on the above five themes. The annual IAB meetings are scheduled to take place on 2nd of July every year unless notified otherwise.
  • The powers of the IAB will be limited to making recommendations based on their industry experience and insights and the information provided by DSDE.  Adoption and implementation of recommendations are at the operational discretion of DSDE management team and staff.
  • The chair may invoke the Chatham House Rule as appropriate; participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
  • Action Points will be recorded by a member of the school’s administrative staff
