ME34 Module Selection Forum

This will take place from 12 - 1pm on Thursday 4th June.

In years 3 and 4, you choose which modules you take.

Students with a confirmed Year in Industry placement for 2026/27 do not need to select modules until May/June 2027.

Mech Eng modules

Mech Eng module choices are submitted via the module selection survey. A link to the survey will be emailed to you.

When selecting Mech Eng modules, we highly recommend that you look at the documents in the Module Selection folder on SharePoint. Here you can find the 2025-26 deadline calendar, which will help you to understand the termtime workload of each module, and a PDF summary of key details, content, and assessments for all Mech Eng modules.

Please note that some deadlines and assessment weightings may change in the next academic year, so these documents are intended as guidelines only.

Capped modules

Capped modules

Some modules are capped. This means they have limitations on how many students can enrol.

If you select more than one capped module, you will be asked to rank them in order of preference on the module selection survey. We recommend that students choose a maximum of two capped modules due to coursework demands during termtime.

It is always possible that modules not currently listed as capped become oversubscribed, as we cannot predict how popular modules will be from year to year.

If we cannot offer you a place on any of your chosen modules, you will receive an email in July/August asking you to select a replacement module. All modules are subject to availability and some modules may be full by this time.
