Consumer Law Compliance
The University is required to comply with consumer protection legislation, regulations and guidance which set out the requirements and minimum standards for our student and consumer-facing operations. Consumer protection covers topics such as the provision information to prospective students and students, the fairness of our consumer contractual terms, programme changes and modification and complaint handling processes and procedures.
The University complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements in relation to consumer law, as well as guidance produced by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for higher education providers. This includes guidance on:
- Information Provision: Ensuring we meet our obligations to deliver clear and timely information to prospective students and students.
- Contractual terms: Ensuring our consumer terms and conditions are fair and balanced.
- Complaint handling processes and practices: Ensuring our processes and procedures are fair and clear, as well as accessible.
