The Legal and Regulatory Affairs Team is responsible for the provision of legal advice and support to the University, and advice and oversight in relation to key regulatory matters with which Imperial must comply. We advise on policies and procedures as well as specific legal matters.

Specific tasks include:

  • Provision of high-quality, timely legal advice across all of Imperial’s areas of operation.
  • Provision of training on core legal matters to relevant staff.
  • Engagement and oversight of external legal support.
  • Identification and management of key regulatory matters.
  • Responsibility for the review and management of Imperial’s Relationships Policy and the Relationships Review Committee.
  • Tracking and providing assurance on Imperial’s compliance with our OfS Conditions of Registration.
  • Managing and providing assurance upon Imperial’s compliance with our Prevent Duty obligations.
  • Responsibility for and management of Imperial’s Freedom of Speech Code of Practice and Events Procedure.
  • Responsibility for ensuring Imperial complies with its safeguarding obligations.
  • Training relevant staff on key regulatory matters.
