The Department of Surgery & Cancer is delighted to offer funding towards any Department led MRes/MSc programme for a student commencing their programme in the 2027/2028 academic year.
There are 8 scholarships available. Each Scholarship is valued at £5,000 towards the tuition fee rate for 2027-28. For part-time study, the Scholarships will be divided over the duration of the degree.

- Cancer Informatics
- Cancer Innovation
- Digital Health Leadership
- Health Policy
- Medical Robotics and Image-Guided Intervention
- Medical Robotics & Image Guided Intervention (Clinical Robotics & AI)
- Translational Research in Surgery, Perioperative and Critical Care
Are you eligible?
To be eligible for the scholarship for 2027 entry, you must:
- Have submitted your postgraduate admissions application by the end of Round 2 (Wednesday 6 January 2027)
- Be in receipt of an offer of admission for one of the Department led MRes/MSc programmes.
- Offer-holders programmes of study may include full-time or part-time study mode.
Selection and Assessment process
- All applications will be initially checked for eligibility
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong academic track record, as evidenced by their admissions application
- The Panel will award the Scholarships to the top 8 Outstanding candidates
