What course do you teach on and what is your role?

Dr Benny LoModule lead - Human Perception, Neuroergonomics and Sensing of the MRes in Medical Robotics and Image Guided Intervention

How has your career led you to teaching?

My academic research was started by studying how surgeons learn to master the minimally invasive surgical skills, in particular, on assessing the dexterity of surgeons using vision based methods. Since I got my lectureship at Imperial, I have continued learning new methods in teaching and also investigating technological approaches to enhance learning experience. This was one of the reasons why I have worked with Coursera and the college’s digital learning hub to launch a MOOC course on Advanced App Development on Android, which is one of the new series of MOOC courses launched by Imperial College.

What aspect of the course do you enjoy teaching the most?

I like discussing theories and ideas with students, as from which we can learn from each others.

What do you hope your students will go on to achieve on completion of this course?

I hope my students will be able to apply the knowledge taught in the module in their future research.

What is your favourite part about teaching at Imperial College London?

We have many bright and talented students at Imperial College, and the college has provided much support in deliver the module.
