The NHS is one of the world’s most complex healthcare systems. Improving care requires organisations to work across traditional boundaries, yet expertise, data and innovation can often remain siloed within individual teams and institutions.

iCARE brings people, technology and data together across the NHS, academia, patients, communities and industry. Uniquely positioned between the NHS and academia, we connect partners and expertise to create new opportunities for collaboration, research and innovation around shared challenges.

Partnering with the communities we serve

Community partnership and engagement

The people behind the data should have a voice in how it is used. We work with patients, public representatives, community leaders and established community partners to listen, learn and shape our research and innovation around the needs of the communities we serve.

A Note on Data Access

Health and care data is a powerful resource for research and innovation - but it is sensitive, and access is not automatic.

Any proposed use of data must go through the appropriate governance, legal and ethical checks. Access is granted to approved projects for approved purposes. We are happy to talk through what that process looks like and whether your project might be eligible.
