Terms of Reference

1. The purpose of the PPP Working Group is to ensure Imperial is compliant with the Prepare, Protect and Prevent pillars as outlined in the national counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST.

    1. To ensure appropriate measures are in place to mitigate the impact of a terrorist attack should one occur, ensuring Imperial is able to respond to and manage the consequences of an attack;
    2. To ensure security measures are in place to deter and prevent attacks;
    3. To respond to the ideological challenge of terrorism and the threat we face from those who promote it;
    4. To prevent people from being drawn into terrorism and ensure they are given appropriate advice and support;
    5. To collaborate with partners (including agencies) to better understand the risks we face and how we can minimise this risk through our day-to-day operations.

2. We will achieve this by:

    1. Regular monitoring of our PPP duties action plan;
    2. Review of any legislative or other regulatory changesl
    3. Development of specific action plans;
    4. Provision of an annual assurance report for Council on the management of the Prepare, Protect and Prevent duties and the Prevent Annual Accountability and Data Return;
    5. Collaborate with partners and agencies to better understand the risks we face and how we can minimise these risks through our day-to-day operations.

3. The Working Group will meet three times per year (once each term).

4. The Working Group will be quorum when 50% of the membership are in attendance.
