Director of Safeguarding
Louise has over thirty years' experience with Imperial College, primarily working in the HR and Organisational Change remit. Much of Louise's career focused on industrial relations and employment law and she holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in this area. Louise served as Imperial's HR Director from 2009-2020, a University Board position with responsibilities that included Occupational Health and Operational Improvement teams. In 2020 she moved to a portfolio career but retained a part-time role with Imperial College as Director of Safeguarding. This position coordinates the University training, policy and practice guidance for under 18s and vulnerable adults at risk and is the Ofsted nominated role for the Early Years Education Centre. Louise also retains the University's position of Authorising Officer for UKVI. Louise's external portfolio of roles include Chair of Trustees for the SAUL Pension Scheme, a judicial appointment as a lay member of the Employment Tribunals and a position as Trustee for the widening participation charity In2MedSchool. These roles complement each other and provide opportunities for shared learning.
