The Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship within Imperial College Business School is looking to recruit an early career academic who has completed a PhD or be near completion in a relevant discipline to work within the department for up to 2.5 years. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to engage with world-leading faculty and contribute both to the education and research at the Business School.
The successful candidate will work within the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship supporting the department’s teaching and developing their research. This position will be suitable for candidates who have or will be completing their PhD and wish to further develop their teaching and research skills and advance their ongoing research before applying for faculty positions. The candidate will benefit from an active research environment and exposure to leading senior scholars that support the development of a research profile commensurate with a leading business school, whilst gaining valuable teaching experience.
Duties and responsibilities
Duties will be to support teaching and learning related activities and undertake research while engaging with faculty. Areas of primary responsibility will be:
- Marking – act as ‘Assistant Examiners’ and assess students’ work based on published assessment criteria
- Supervision – support Master’s projects
- Teaching – support teaching activities as directed by a member of faculty and develop own teaching material where appropriate
- Feedback to students – providing guidance where appropriate, including feedback on progress.
- Research – produce research papers for publication in leading academic journals; independently or in collaboration with a member of faculty.
Completed or near completion of PhD in relevant subject area.
