Imperial College Business School Careers focuses on two main activities:
- Building and developing sustainable on-going relationships with employers that wish to hire our students and/or that our students aspire to work for
- Preparing our students so they can be competitive in the selection processes run by these employers, and can be effective and successful employees when they graduated from ICBS.
Duties and responsibilities
The Director, Employer Relations will define the employment relations strategy for the next five years for the development and management of global relationships with target employers and current recruiters. Key priorities are building relationships at senior levels with strategic employers and developing online and in-person programming to present accurate and up to date market knowledge to our students and faculty so we are able to prepare students appropriately to be competitive in employers’ selection processes. Success will be measured by a range of employment related outcomes, but primarily by the ability to create employment-related opportunities for students within 3 months post-graduation, particularly among the “Top 50” employers.
This post supports 1500 Masters students and 600 MBA students, studying online or face to face, plus 18,500 alumni.
The post will contribute significantly to the School’s and College’s relationships with major employers in the UK and internationally and will be required to work cooperatively with Corporate Relations, Alumni Relations & Development and College Careers when managing relationships with employers, senior alumni and development prospects.
Extensive senior management experience of having shaped and led high performance teams a Higher Education setting or within a corporate environment in human resources, training/learning & development and/or recruitment is essential. An understanding of world-class business education is an advantage.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially the ability to develop and deliver inspiring presentations to groups of several hundred students, participants or alumni as well as one to one are essential.
All appointments will normally be made at the bottom of the salary range.
