This post is an excellent opportunity to work within the Library Liaison Team (Business, Engineering and Natural Sciences).

As part of a small team you will provide high-quality support to meet the learning, teaching and research needs of staff and students at Imperial College London.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the library at Silwood Park as well as providing support for work taking place at Central Library in South Kensington. In addition to overseeing the Issue Desk and answering enquiries you will be responsible for managing the work of the Library Assistant and any casual staff.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role you will support the Liaison Librarians by performing multiple tasks including:

  • preparing and delivering library inductions, teaching sessions and workshops
  • answering enquiries and assisting users in finding and retrieving books, journal articles, etc.
  • assisting with learning resource management, e.g. book ordering, weeding, repairs and collection development
  • providing reading list support to staff and students and assisting with tasks associated with this

Essential requirements

You will have experience of supporting end-users within an appropriate library environment, ideally in HE libraries.You should have good oral and written skills and be enthusiastic about delivering training to groups of staff, students and researchers.
