Job summary

A great opportunity has arisen to join the long-established Outreach team at Imperial College London. The Student Ambassador Administrator is a central role within the team that is responsible for the efficient operation of our student ambassador scheme.

We are looking for a candidate who can combine effective administration and communication with an interest in developing the skills of our student worker pool.

Our student ambassadors are a diverse group of students who support the delivery of events and programmes for prospective students organised by the Outreach and Recruitment teams. The successful postholder will work closely with colleagues in these teams, the Casual Worker team, and our academic departments to build a community of pro-active and engaged student ambassadors.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will be looking after many of the key elements of the student ambassador scheme, from the recruitment of ambassadors, to onboarding, training and work allocations.

Duties will include:

  • Supporting the marketing of the recruitment cycles across the College
  • Coordinating information sessions and interviews for prospective ambassadors
  • Supporting the development and delivery of the ambassador training package
  • Coordinating the onboarding administration for new ambassadors
  • Responsibility for the administration of work opportunities, including work allocations and payroll processes
  • Responsibility for communication with student ambassadors
  • Working with hiring managers in the Outreach and Recruitment teams to identify training gaps, opportunities for skills development and community cohesion in the ambassador pool.

Essential requirements


  • Experience of working with university students and an interest in their career development

  • Experience of managing a dynamic and high-volume inbox

  • Experience in handling and manipulating large data sets

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills across a range of collaborators
