Job summary

Applications are invited for 2 x fully funded position at the Research Assistant / Associate (PostDoc) level within the Aerial Robotics Laboratory at Imperial College London.

The project will investigate automated fabrication approaches with aerial robots and is part of a large EPSRC initiative that is lead by the Aerial Robotics Lab.  Main research thrusts will include advanced control of novel morphing aerial robots and dynamic flight as well as system integration, optimization and testing. 

Duties and responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • development of novel aerial robots and mechatronics solutions, including the conception and design of actuation, control and morphing technologies.
  • publishing work in high-impact journals
  • preparation of progress reports
  • presentation of findings on scientific and industrial meetings
  • actively helping to prepare funding proposals
  • supporting teaching activities.

Essential requirements

Research Associate - applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.

Research Assistant - applicants must have a MEng and preferably be close to obtaining a PhD (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline 

In addition, applicants should have a strong publication record in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Control Engineering preferably with relevant experience in Aerial Robot control, mechatronics integration and testing.
