Job summary

The Department of Aeronautics are seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow with appropriate disciplinary experience, educational qualification and expertise, and proven teaching ability to provide teaching support during a period of staff leave for one year. Candidates offering particularly outstanding teaching expertise in other areas relevant to our taught programmes will be also be considered.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be primarily responsible for:

  • providing support for teaching and assessment in computational and numerical subjects;
  • assisting in the development of new material for courses on the application of artificial intelligence to aeronautics;
  • working with a wide range of colleagues, students and external stakeholders to develop and promote innovative curriculum design and delivery.

You will also participate in and assist the Departmental academic staff with: the introduction of innovative curriculum design and delivery utilising more interactive teaching methods, increased use of technology enhanced learning, inclusive and authentic learning and assessment and greater integration of Imperial’s research community to increase learning by discovery.

The intention is to update disciplinary curricular, aligning them with Imperial’s new learning and teaching strategy and our desired undergraduate or postgraduate attributes, and propagating and promoting STEM teaching expertise and excellence across the institution and beyond.

Essential requirements

You should have a degree in science or engineering, with a strong capability in computational science and will ideally have some familiarity with machine learning.
