Imperial’s Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI) has identified, developed and disseminated world-class healthcare innovation since 2010. We are a multidisciplinary team of talented people with a broad range of backgrounds; from clinicians to engineers, policy analysts to economists, who have developed cutting-edge solutions to some of the most pressing global healthcare challenges in partnership with industry, governments and patient groups.

We are looking for a motivated Senior Statistician to join our team of clinicians and public health professionals working on trials of novel digital healthcare technologies. This is a unique opportunity for the post holder to support digital trials from the initial set up stage as well as being involved in developing new applications for future funding and will work closely with the digital health and AI research team at IGHI. They will provide support on all aspects of a trial including contributing to the protocol, writing the statistical analysis plan, reviewing the case report forms, undertaking analysis and participating in regular trial meetings. 

Duties and responsibilities

You will also contribute to several other IGHI digital, AI and healthcare projects working closely and collaboratively with other experienced researchers both internally at Imperial and across partner academic, clinical and industry institutions.

This appointment is part of the expansion of our Big Data and Analytical Unit (BDAU) which supports healthcare data analytics across Imperial. In this role they will support and advise investigators who are submitting applications for peer-reviewed funding streams for a broad range of health service research. This will include providing written and oral advice on aspects such as the research design, funding stream and statistical aspects of the application.

Essential requirements

The ideal candidate for this post will have significant breadth of analytical and statistical experience conducting data analysis in clinical and non-clinical trials, real-world evidence, novel intervention assessments, learning-curve studies, simulation and questionnaire data using modern statistical modelling techniques including extensive experience of working with standard statistical packages and complex datasets. They will have a willingness to collaborate with a wide cross section of scientists and clinicians, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
