Imperial College has a broad range of clinical and non-clinical research expertise which provides an outstanding multidisciplinary environment in basic, clinical and translational research. The Department of Immunology and Inflammation is embedded within this vibrant research environment and is proud of its supportive ethos and coordinated activities in research, teaching and public engagement.

Duties and responsibilities

As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Immunology your research will complement our existing themes, which include autoimmunity, renal and vascular inflammation, complement biology, innate inflammation, immunometabolism, skin immunology, vaccine responses and stromal cell biology, tumour immunology.


You will also be able to develop new research initiatives, will supervise, train and mentor staff and students at the highest scientifically rigorous levels, and will make active contributions to the management of financial, staff and research resources with the Department.

Essential requirements

To excel in this role, you will be developing a national and/or an international reputation and a record of excellent research in your field. You will be collaborative, able to build and sustain effective working relationships, and will have strong communication and leadership skills, with experience of training students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
