Job summary
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Clinical Research Administrator to join our team running clinical volunteer studies such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza and RSV human infection challenge studies and vaccine trials. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on human immunity against respiratory viral infections using exciting and unique studies of experimental infection/vaccination of volunteers. You will join a dynamic group of clinical fellows, research nurses, scientists and clinical project manager led by Prof Chris Chiu (www.imperial.ac.uk/people/c.chiu) in the Department of Infectious Disease, to better understand how to prevent and treat COVID-19, influenza and RSV infection.
Duties and responsibilities
You will work closely with the Clinical Project Manager and wider multi-disciplinary team and will be essential for the successful recruitment of study participants as well as day to day running of the Group’s complex research study portfolio. You will also provide support to ensure the successful set-up, running and completion of research studies.
This position includes office-based work at the Hammersmith Campus in White City, with some travel requirements to other Imperial College London campuses and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust hospitals. It may also require some travel to other collaborating hospitals such as the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. There is some flexibility to work from home in line with Imperial College London guidelines and with agreement from the line manager.
The successful candidate will bear excellent organisational and communication skills and demonstrate experience or willingness to learn meticulous record keeping. All relevant training will be provided.
Essential requirements
- Been educated to a minimum of A-level standard
- Willingness to undertake Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and Information Governance training
- Administrative experience in a busy office environment
- Evidence of excellent communication with patients/customers/clients and colleagues
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office

This is a Full Time and Fixed Term (Part Time post can be accommodated - minimum 3 days per week) post for 2 years based at the Hammersmith Campus (occasionally also Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and St Mary’s Campus).
