Job summary

The Centre for Rapid Online Analysis of Reactions (ROAR) is seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Administrator to join our team at the Molecular Sciences Research Hub at Imperial College’s White City campus. As a member of the Operations Team, you will have a broad range of responsibilities, working closely with the Facility Manager, to provide efficient and effective administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the research facility.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks required for the smooth running of ROAR. This will include managing and co-ordination of finance procedures, acting as a contact point for the majority of the Users of ROAR, as well as general administrative and ad-hoc tasks, including the organisation of events.

You will work closely with and under the guidance of the ROAR Facility Manager. However, as a member of a small team, you will be expected to undertake duties in an independent manner without the need for close supervision and be capable of taking the initiative to streamline administrative processes.

Essential requirements

Educated to a degree level, you will have experience working in a scientific role/field (preferably within Higher Education). Substantial experience in monitoring and managing budgets is essential. You will have experience with event organisation, including technical workshops as well as stakeholder meetings.

A high level of accuracy, consistent attention to detail and excellent organisational and communication skills are required. You will have a proven ability to work under pressure and have excellent written and verbal communications skills. You will need to be proactive at resolving issues related to administrative procedures.

Further information

This is a full-time, fixed term position until 30 April 2023 and will be based at White City Campus.

Please note that we will also be willing to consider a part-time appointment - no less than 50% FTE.
