Aphasia is a disorder linked to difficulty with speech comprehension. Rehabilitation from aphasia can be aided by non-invasive neurostimulation but its efficacy currently remains limited. This project will develop a novel type of neurostimulation that can provide a breakthrough in rehabilitating speech comprehension. The novel neurostimulation will employ complex temporal signals, building on recent research into the mechanisms of speech processing by the brain.  A computational model will be developed to optimise the type of complex stimulation patterns that can enhance speech comprehension. The development of the model will be coupled tightly with experimental verification.
