Simon Maddison scholarship

A scholarship of £15,000 a year year will be available for UK undergraduate students starting in the department in 2026-27.

The scholarship is designed to support students from households with an income under £40,000 who are eligible for UK government funding.

Our scholarship database is currently being updated with details; but here's what you need to know in the meantime.

You will be considered if you:

  • Qualify for the Home rate of tuition (see our fee status page)
  • Have a household income under £40,000
  • Apply for a means-tested government loan, even if you don't plan to take it (e.g. Maintenance Loan from Student Finance England)

To be eligible we must receive your household income information by 31 May 2026.
