One award of £10,000 for a student with Home tuition fee status who
- displays exceptional academic achievement and/or potential
- demonstrates financial need
- intends to pursue a research project in the application of medical electronics
The scholarship is available for the following courses:
- MSc Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovation
- MSc Applied Machine Learning
- MSc Analogue and Digital Integrated Circuits
- MSc Communications and Signal Processing
- MSc Control and Optimisation
- MSc Sensor Systems Engineering
It is a condition of the scholarship that your MSc project will be in an area related to biomedical electronics and will be selected from a range of projects from staff working in this area.
Application process
- Recieve an offer of admissions for one of the courses listed above by 6 May 2026
- Accept your offer by the scholarship application deadline
- Complete our Scholarship application form by 1 June 2026
This scholarship is for Residents of the EU/EEA and will cover difference between Home and Overseas fees. There are a total of five scholarships awarded. The scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, and all applicants who meet the criteria will be considered during the admissions process.
To be eligible, you must submit your application to study by 31 March. Successful applicants will be notified at the end of May.

- Communications and Signal Processing
- Future Power Networks
- Sensor Systems Engineering

The Spärck AI Scholarship is a new UK government programme designed to attract top home and global talent to study AI and related subjects at Master's level. It is named after pioneering British computer scientist Karen Spärck Jones.

The scholarship is open to home and overseas students and offers
- Home rate tuition fees
- UKRI stipend
You must hold an offer for one of the above courses.
Applicants are required to complete the scholarship application form. Applicants will be assessed on academic merit or potential through the standard admission process. Through the scholarship application form, applicants will be asked to submit a statement on how they meet the criteria listed under the 'Additional information' heading.
The shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the academic panel.
