Department contacts
- Personal tutor
- Bamber Blackman, Senior Tutor
- Chloe Agg, Student Experience Champion
- Naomi Jackson-Macfarlane, Student Wellbeing Advisor
Your personal tutor is your first point of contact for pastoral support and advice. They will monitor your academic progress and general wellbeing, and flag concerns to the Senior Tutor for further support.
You can arrange to have a meeting with them at any time, although most personal tutors will have set office hours. Some may require you to make an appointment. They will normally remain your tutor for the duration of your studies.
Bamber is responsible for the welfare and academic progress of every undergraduate student in the department. You can speak him if you have concerns about your academic progress, or if you feel that there are circumstances which are causing you academic pressure.
You can send Bamber an email or visit his office in CAGB 514.
Chloe is responsible for ensuring students have a positive experience during their time in the department. She focuses on improving teaching quality and clarity of assessment; learning, studying, social and welfare spaces; developing support schemes; and making the department a more inclusive and equitable environment.
Chloe works closely with student representatives and societies, and with individual students who have suggestions or concerns about the student experience.
You can send Chloe an email or visit her office in CAGB 526B.
Naomi promotes good mental health and wellbeing and provides individual support to students within the department.
You can speak to Naomi if there is anything that is causing you stress or anxiety, whether related to your academic work or not.
You can book an appointment with Naomi, send her an email, or find out more about the support she offers on the dedicated student wellbeing page.
