The President’s Awards for Excellence in Culture and Community- Previous Winners

The Awards for Culture and Community were new for 2019 and celebrate the achievements of teams and individual staff at Imperial, recognising excellent leadership which motivates and inspires others, developing an environment which promotes equality and diversity and identifying those who communicate and collaborate effectively throughout the College. This award category was in memory of Imperial’s first Provost, Professor James Stirling who sadly passed away on 9 November 2018.

The President’s Award for Excellence in Collaboration and Communication recognises an individual or team who embodies our spirit of community and collegiality: one team working, planning and delivering together towards our shared vision through effective networking, collaboration and communication. In 2019, this was awarded to:

Gareth Oliver, ICT- individual award
Margaret Collett, Department of Medicine- individual award
Founders of the Imperial College Advanced Hackspace which was presented to Dr Nick Jones, Department of Mathematics and Professor Oscar Ces, Department of Chemistry- team award
