The Grantham Institute funds PhD studentships and is a hub for doctoral students researching climate change and environmental science across Imperial. The Institute provides doctoral researchers with interdisciplinary training, cutting-edge research opportunities, and the skills needed to translate science into real-world impact.

Our PhD researchers
In October 2025, the Grantham Institute welcomed eleven new students to their PhD network. Meet our 2025 intake here. Funded by NERC and the Grantham Institute, they join students who joined in 2023 and in 2024 as part of the Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet DTP, taking part in various training and engagement activities.
A generous legacy donation to Imperial has also provided funding for eight PhD studentships researching energy-related challenges. Meet the Taylor PhD students.
