Imperial has outlined plans to transform the capital’s global response to climate change through a new collaboration with the Mayor of London. Find out more

The Grantham Institute is collaborating with Imperial College London to create a Centre for Climate Change Innovation, which will draw together a critical mass of expertise around climate change solutions technology. A hothouse for innovation, the centre will nurture a new generation of climate change pioneers, entrepreneurs and innovators to develop business solutions for a sustainable and resilient low-carbon future.

Imperial has a long history of success in delivering real businesses and a pipeline of clean tech entrepreneurs. The Centre for Climate Change Innovation will seamlessly merge learning with practical and tangible enterprise development in partnership with the best academics, global corporates and innovative companies. It will draw on Imperial’s world-class facilities, science and engineering knowhow,business expertise and networks in order to help catalyse this century’s great economic transformation.

EIT Climate-KIC Accelerator Programme

The EIT Climate-KIC Accelerator Programme is run from Imperial's South Kensington campus. The programme offers support and equity-free funding to start-up teams seeking to develop scalable solutions to the challenges of climate change. 

Through the programme, the Grantham Institute provides support to the start-ups in the form of coaching, concept development, business planning and technology specific academic assistance.

Working with the Greater London Authority

The ambition of the The Centre for Climate Change Innovation is to help London to become a leading cleantech city. The Centre will be backed by a grant of up to £8.7 million from the Mayor of London (subject to contract).  The Centre will fuel a new generation of climate change entrepreneurs in London and spur the translation of research discoveries into pioneering technological solutions and successful companies.
