The Grantham Institute is currently offering scholarships for its three MSc programmes, MSc Cleantech InnovationMSc Climate Change, Management and Finance, and MSc Sustainable Energy Futures.

These scholarships aim to support home students from a lower-socio economic background.

Scholarship details

Grantham Institute Scholarship for MSc Climate Change, Management and Finance

Degree level: Postgraduate taught

Value: The scholarship is worth £27,300. It will cover the full cost of home tuition fees for the Master's in Climate Change, Management and Finance (CCMF)

Academic year: 2026/2027

Tuition fee status: Home

Mode of study: Full time

Available to: Prospective students

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a UK-based student who fits into one of these categories:

Recent Graduates
You completed your undergraduate degree within the last five academic years and meet one of the following conditions:

  • You received funding from Student Finance England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, with 100% of the government-funded maintenance loan, based on a household income of £25,000 or less in your final year of study.
  • You were eligible for the full maintenance loan (based on a household income of £25,000 or less) but received a bursary that covered all costs.

Applicants returning to study
You completed your undergraduate degree more than five academic years ago and meet one of the following conditions:

  • You are currently receiving one or more means-tested benefits.
  • You can provide evidence, like a P60 or HMRC self-assessment, to show your income in the previous tax year was less than £25,000.

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Application process

  1. Apply for the MSc CCMF Programme: You must first submit a successful application to the MSc in Climate Change, Management and Finance.
  2. Submit a Scholarship Application
    Advise that you would like to be considered for this scholarship by emailing h.cavanna@imperial.ac.uk. Include in the email:
  • Why you want to pursue the MSc CCMF.
  • Your dedication and commitment to the field of climate change and environmental studies.
  • How receiving this scholarship would impact you and your ability to enrol in the programme.

3. Selection and documentation

  • Your application and interview will be considered for selection. We may will request a short online meeting with shortlisted candidates.
  • If selected, you will need to provide proof of your financial background, such as confirmation of your undergraduate loan or other evidence.

Grantham Institute Widening Participation Scholarship: MSc Sustainable Energy Futures

Once an admission offer is made, the applicants can advise that they wish to be considered for this scholarship via email, advising how you meet the criteria and why you would like to be considered for the scholarship, to mscinsef@imperial.ac.uk.

The deadline for submission is 1 June 2026. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for interview, possibly by MS Teams, and will be notified by email as soon as possible after the deadline. The decision should be made by the end of July 2026.
