Overview

Chemical plant This systematic review was carried out in order to provide an accurate overview of the current research into carbon capture, as applied to industrial facilities. Industrial emissions of carbon dioxide in the UK account for 19% of total emissions (110 Mt per year out of a total of 570 Mt). Four industrial sectors have been investigated in this report; the iron and steel industry, the cement industry, petroleum refineries and chemical plants, and the pulp and paper industry, which account for the majority of industrial emissions.
