Research with using fruit flies

Over the last decade, the European Research Council has supported scores of researchers at Imperial College London.

We hope that we can help others to follow Imperial College London in embracing discovery, supporting great people and being open to the world."

Professor Jean-Pierre Bourguignon

Interim President of the European Research Council

Imperial academics have won more than 100 ERC grants, all of which have helped improve the health, wellbeing, environment, technology and economy for people in Europe and around the world.

This €160 million investment is empowering some of the world’s most forward thinking nanotechnologists, electrosurgeons, biomedical engineers, chemists and economists.

The ERC has supported many exciting and crucial reseach projects at Imperial, some of which you can read about in our ERC Booklet.
