Computing Equipment Loan Policy
The Department supports the lending of portable computing equipment for short term use (conferences, meeting, fieldtrips).
The policy statement ESE Computing Equipment Loan Policy defines the new loan procedure and the responsibilities of the borrower.
The policy covers the lending of:
- Portable hard drives
Staff and students must agree to the terms in the policy by reading and signing a copy of the Computing Equipment Loan Agreement Form prior to their loan and return it to the Departmental Computing Systems Administrator. Please make all computing equipment loan arrangements through the Department. The contact for this service is:

You can discuss potential work and ideas with either of them at the clinic sessions they hold between the hours of 14:00 and 16:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Their office is 2.30 which is located on the second floor of the RSM
Guest Computer Accounts Information
NB: Guest accounts are temporary and do not receive any storage or an associated Imperial email address.
For very short term guests, you may create an immediate guest account valid for 8 hours using the online form at: https://guestaccess.imperial.ac.uk/Registration/GuestAdmin/GuestQuick.aspx
To use this feature you must be prepared to identify the person to whom the guest id has been given or take personal responsibility for its traffic.
For longer guest accounts, from 1 to 90 days you can use the form at: https://guestaccess.imperial.ac.uk/Registration/GuestAdmin/Step2.aspx
For conferences and the creation of a large number of guest accounts please contact the Computing Manager directly giving at least 2 weeks notice.
Note also that visitors from other academic institutions will be able to use the Eduroam service if their institution has signed up for access.
