The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is one of the largest engineering departments at Imperial. Research activity is broadly divided into five groups, each with large number of postdocs and fellows. They are represented within the Department by the EEE Postdoc and Fellows Committee.

The reps on the Committee are Arnob Ghosh and Hamed Rezaee, with Dr. Dan Goodman as the departmental Postdoc and Fellows Champion. The main aim of the committee is to be the voice of postdocs and fellows at every forum in the Department and arrange social and information events.

These include coffee and cake gatherings, career-focused workshops and seminars, and a Research Symposium where postdocs and fellows can present their research to a large audience from academia and industry.

Message to new Postdocs and Research Fellows - Autumn 2020

A warm welcome from your new Post-doc representatives. We have started our journey as Post-doc representatives from June 2020. Our job is to primarily engage with you, open a communication platform among the post-docs and fellows across different research groups within the EEE Department understand your problems, and make the lives of the post-docs more enjoyable and exciting.  We are excited to work with you and will be more than happy to address your issues and questions. If you have any concerns as a researcher and have anything to share like how we can improve the lives of the post-docs, we will more than happy to listen to you.

Due to the Covid-19 scenario, we had to postpone a lot of events. We celebrated the postdoc appreciation week by engaging with our Head of the Department. We thanked all our fellow colleagues for the successful completion of the event. We are planning to start our weekly social post-doc and research fellow gatherings once the department is open. We are planning to organize one-day research socialization where post-docs and fellows will present their research works in 5 minutes. The idea behind such an event is to get to know each other more. The event will be capped by a presentation of one of our own alum who will share their experience of their journey from a post-doc to a faculty. We are open to discuss any cool ideas you have got for organizing any events for engaging the Post-docs and research fellows.
