This research provided supporting information for Chapter 3 of the CCC’s report, considering an appropriate UK contribution to the global effort. The authors look at the UK’s recent progress in aspects of decarbonisation compared to other countries, the relative shares of different regions to the global mitigation effort under existing published scenarios and national deep decarbonisation scenarios alongside pledged emissions reductions.
