Overview
When applying for a new opportunity, you will need to sell your skills through your CV, an application form, a personal statement, or a cover letter. These documents can be challenging to write effectively to get the hiring manager's interest and progress you to the next stage of the recruitment process.
This session is run by the Careers Service, which provides career guidance and application support for our current students and recent graduates. This session has been specially tailored for staff looking at new opportunities within Imperial or externally.
Key areas
At this session, we will:
- Identify areas from your experiences that could be highlighted.
- Understand how to read a job advertisement to help tailor your application.
- Explore the basic structure and give you tips to make your CV more effective.
- Review the basics of application form answers, cover letters and personal statements.
