Ultrasound provides a real-time and completely safe guidance technique during needle biopsy procedures. However, its sensitivity strongly depends on the angle of the needle relative to the array used to image the tissue and needle. In order for the needle to be visible, it has to be parallel to the array.  As a result, needle biopsy under ultrasound guidance is a complicated procedure which requires highly experienced radiologists.  The aim of this project is to develop a device that can lead to the detection of the needle regardless of its orientation relative to the array.
