I work with our Working Professional MBAs and around this time of year it’s great to be involved with running a series of exclusive webinars giving our MBAs insights into senior roles that are available in different industries to MBAs who haven’t worked in those industries – almost like informational interviewing on a mass scale!

It has been great to work with our sector teams to deliver insights to suit common career paths in each sector, we have really worked on designing these webinars to provide specific industry insights that inspire and get MBAs thinking about different industries. All this is really done in order to give a more informed decision to the MBA audience, which we hope will open the thought processes on career direction, not only now but in five or ten years time. The Careers team and I do not want anyone to leave their MBA not knowing about different career paths they could have explored and these webinars are designed to support this process.

It's been a privilege to work with MBA students throughout my time at Imperial College Business School who have moved sectors and gained some amazing roles and our team is continually looking at ways we can support students in doing this.

The Careers team is running a series of exclusive webinars giving current MBA students insights into senior roles available in different industries to professionals who haven’t worked in that industry. Delivered by our sector teams and retaining an uniqueness to suit common career paths in each sector, the webinars are designed to provide industry insights and inspiration to consider different industries, allowing for more informed decisions on career direction.

Past sessions | Finance and Sustainability

The series kicked off with The Green Pivot: Career Changes in Climate, Sustainability and Energy in which industry leaders from specialist recruitment firms shared actionable insights and advice to help students make the leap. The webinar included the current state of the job market and global opportunities, as well as in-demand skills and how to position your experience for success.

The Senior Careers in Finance webinar, hosted by Stephane Renevier from InvestInU Academy, covered useful insights to those targeting this industry from the outside and those aiming for a pivot to a new sub-sector within the finance industry. The webinar covered growing areas, common roles and common MBA routes into investment banking.
