As part of Imperial College London, one of the world’s best universities and a global leader in science and technology, the Business School addresses today’s most pressing global challenges through the fusion of business and technology.
Our faculty are spread across six academic areas, nine multidisciplinary research centres and one research studio.
Most business schools focus primarily on the underlying social science disciplines, and core business and management topics. We have this focus too, but we then go further – with world-leading research and teaching in innovation and entrepreneurship, quantitative finance, and healthcare management – providing both faculty and students with outstanding opportunities for research and learning. Strong links with industry, commerce, healthcare and government put the School at the heart of policymaking and management strategy.
Our academic areas
Our world-class research in finance is split aross four core themes: Asset Pricing, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Financial Technology.
The advent of new technologies as well as ongoing social, environmental and organisational changes mean new approaches to management and entrepreneurship are needed and their effectiveness needs to be researched and validated.
Our research covers a diverse range of topics including the effect of government climate change policies on business and the contribution of knowledge assets to economic growth.
Our marketing projects examine a number of key challenges, from the differing notion of brand attachment to managing employee and customer behaviour.
Our academics do research in the areas of business analytics and the design and management of processes across the manufacturing and services sectors.
