It is also a chance to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Imperial Business School's "Real Estate Investment Finance and Private Equity" module, taught by visiting lecturer Robbin Herring.
During this event, Robbin Herring will discuss with James Seppala (European Head of Real Estate at Blackstone) ‘AI & The Future of Real Estate, Investment, and Finance’.

Our Expert Speakers:
James Seppala is the Head of Real Estate Europe at Blackstone, based in London. Since joining Blackstone in 2011, Mr. Seppala has been involved in a number of Blackstone’s investments across Europe, including Logicor, OfficeFirst, and Mileway.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Seppala was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs & Co, where he spent 10 years focused on equity and debt investment opportunities in Europe and the United States on behalf of Goldman Sachs’s real estate private equity group.
Mr. Seppala graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 2001. Mr. Seppala currently serves as Chairman of BEPIF. He also serves on the Imperial College Endowment Board, is a governor of the John Lyon's Foundation, and serves on the European Advisory Board of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School.
Robbin Herring is founder and managing director of Boxberg Capital, an operating partner active in European real estate since 2012. His work and interest increasingly focuses on how AI and Machine Learning can enhance real estate analytics and strategy. Prior to founding Boxberg Capital, Robbin held senior positions at Apollo Global Real Estate, CPI Capital Partners where he served as Head of Germany and later European Chief Investment Officer, CSFB/DLJ Capital Partners, Deutsche Bank's real estate private equity team, and JLL Germany.
Robbin earned a BSc Economics (First Class Honours) and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the European University Institute, specializing in Labour Economics and Game Theory. He is currently expanding his expertise through advanced studies in Data Science and AI.
Since 2016, he has served as a Visiting Lecturer and Course Leader for an elective in Real Estate Investment and Finance at Imperial College London. Robbin is fluent in English and German with working knowledge of Italian, Spanish, and French.
