ESRC London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership

Imperial has been jointly awarded one of 14 Doctoral Training Partnerships from the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).  In a bid led by King’s College London and also joining forces with Queen Mary University of London, the new London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS-DTP) will offer world-class training to PhD students across social science disciplines.

The new partnership will provide a number of studentships in social science research across the three institutions, enabling students to work with leading experts in areas including: health, well-being and social inclusion; economics and business; language, culture and education; the environment and urban life; and security and governance. Within Imperial, it unites all the Faculties (Engineering, Natural Sciences and Medicine) with the Business School creating opportunities for greater interdisciplinarity and knowledge-sharing in social science methods and practices.

Further information is available on the LISS Doctoral Training Partnership website, including information on individual projects.

To apply for a place on the LISS Doctoral Training Programme, applicants must apply for the doctoral programme at the institution they wish to be based. For Imperial College Business School, you should apply for the doctoral programme by the deadline of 10 January 2020, but you need to also complete a LISS Case for Support.

Studentships are only available to those who meet residency requirements set out by the ESRC.

Please see here for full details of the LISS application process.
